Gold or silver … what should you wear?

I am often asked about what colour metal and jewels customers should wear .. Obviously it comes down to personal preference and I love to mix it up sometimes however ….
Matching your jewellery to your face and skin tone will ensure that you find pieces to suit you.

Here is a bit of a guide….

1] determine your skin tone by looking at your skin colour as well as your veins on the underside of your wrist.

If your veins are blue you have a cool skin tone. Your hair is probably blonde, dark brown or black and your eyes are likely to be light blue or brown. You also fit in to this category if you burn easily or have paler skin or your skin shows redness.

If your veins are greener you have a warm skin tone. Your hair is probably light blonde, red or brown and your eyes brown, green or hazel or bright blue. You can also tell you have a warm skin tone if you tan easily or if your skin tone is ebony or espresso coloured.

2] match your skin tone to the right metal and gem stone

Cool skin tones suit silver or white gold. Consider ruby, garnet, amethyst and sapphire, topaz and aquamarine. If your looking at pearls consider white pearls and rose tinted pearl

Warmer skin tones look better with yellow, orange and green. So consider gold or copper, citrine, zircon, imperial topaz and moonstone, emerald and jade. If your looking at pearls choose a silver tinted pearl or a white pearl.

Luckily diamonds look good with all skin tones!

You can see from these pictures how the golds make my skin tone seem warmer … I was colour coded a while ago and was told to wear silver .. however I love gold so mix it up a bit ….

What skin tone do you think you are and are you wearing the correct metal colour ?
