Times are changing….

It’s been a whirlwind week in the Pop & Flo household … like you all we have gone from thinking Covid19 being something miles away to it literally being at our back door.

We live on a farm in Northumberland and our neighbours are my in laws. They are in isolation now and it’s so hard waving at them through the window with the girls …. but if it keeps them safe then that’s what we have to do. Hannah’s homeschool starts Monday which will be fun, thank goodness it’s spring, lambing and calving is due to start soon so that will be a welcome distraction.

Pop & Flo is continuing to operate despite all my pop up shops and fairs being cancelled. I have been overwhelmed by the support this week and the lovely messages! I will be making regular trips to the post office so if you need anything just shout. I have been posting out presents for my customers, gift wrapping is standard and I can include a note if you let me know at check out.

Local orders going out this week… I even added some daffodils from the farm for one lovely customer!

Equally if you fancy a colourful pick me up, spring scarf for the walks you will be doing or a hair band or bobble (anybody else wish they had been to the hairdressers last week?) I can post you these out to cheer you up. Free postage is standard on all orders for the foreseeable future.

I have been using my time wisely this week to explore new, budget friendly recipes and ideas to keep the girls entertained over the coming months so keep and eye out on Instagram as I will be posting these along with things to cheer you up and make you giggle.

My Dad always says that there is a silver lining to every cloud, so look for the positives, take little steps, don’t overwhelm yourself and be kind …. this will pass. Gin and coffee helps too!
Sending you all lots of love

If you want sustainability, go for classics & accessorise!

https://popandflo.com/product/pearl-star-earrings/

Sustainable fashion is the buzz word of 2020! People are ditching fast fashion & choosing items that are more sustainable or recycled. It’s all about investing in clothing that lasts longer … making it work harder in your wardrobe … As a good friend always says ‘cost per wear is key Hannah!’
How can you achieve this?

  • Declutter … know what you have & only purchase what you need
  • Invest in classics – choose timeless pieces
  • Always buy the best quality you can afford
  • Recycle, upcycle, wear preloved, swop with friends!

Classic looks really do help as they work harder & last longer .. invest in classic blazers, shirts, crew or v knits, trench coats, loafers, Breton tees, leather skirts or trousers, denim … think Parisian chic! Then put your own spin on your look using your accessories!

Think about using a coloured shoe, belt or bag. A scarf with a pattern or something plain that pulls a colour from your patterned shirt. How about a white shirt enhanced with a hoop to lift the outfit? A basic crew jumper with a couple of necklaces layered at the neck? What about a silk scarf tied round the handle of your bag or pearls to add a modern feminine twist to your Breton striped tee…. remember though … less is more so don’t go too over the top with your jewels.

That saying that saying if there is a coloured coat or a fabulous skirt you cannot live without … buy it .. just make sure you can wear it with at least 3 things / to 3 occasions to ensure you get your wear out if it … Good luck!

Bags are a great way to add texture or colour to an outfit https://popandflo.com/product/rattan-clutch-grey-black/

As always please contact me if you need any accessories help with an outfit your putting together .. always here to help & advise.
