Summer reads

I have been super busy since May reading some great books!
I love nothing more than a coffee, a quiet spot & a good book… summer holidays are the perfect time to unwind & enjoy a good book. I have read some amazing ones recently & thought I would share a few of my favourites with you.

I have included some of my favourite summer recipe books here & a brilliant gardening read if you want to up your planting game in the garden.

My favourite three reads have been ….

At the table by Claire Powell. It was a really astute book about family dynamics. I loved the characters in this book & really wanted them all to do the right thing! It’s about a suburban ‘perfect’ couple & their shock separation & the effect on the family. An easy read that has you rooting for them all.

Thanks my lovely instragram community, I was recommended The Herd by Emily Edwards. It’s about two families & their views on vaccinations. This is definitely one for the book club debaters amongst you. I enjoyed the deliberation & the twists & turns. A great summer read.

I love a historical read & devoured The Mercies by Kieran Millwood Hargrove. Set in Norway in the 17th century, it’s based on real events & an isolated community of women who are faced with a witch hunt. It’s gripping & is a story of struggles, friendship & suspicion. One that will remain with me for a while!

Do let me know what you think!
